Includes walkway markings, bond markings, cockpit access flap stencil and prop markings. This sheet provides two complete sets of stencils for the Mk. I through Mk. VI Spitfires. These decals are crisply printed and very thin, and are a real improvement over the stencils found in most kits of the single stage Merlin Spitfires. They feature full walkway markings and stripes, bonding markings, as well as 2 different versions of the hard-to-find cockpit access flap stencil. Shared by Capt. Bill Hollander and Capt. Stanley Anderson. Based at Debden, England, January, 1944. Finished in Olive Drab and Neutral Gray. Note early cowl flaps style, Curtiss Electric narrow blade propeller, and no wing pylons.
Dallas Blond P-47D (subtype unknown), serial unknown. 319th FS, 325th FG, 12th Air Force. Flown by Lt. Don Kerns. Lesina, Italy, early 1944. Wathered Olive Drab and Neutral Gray. Carried two Olive Drab painted P-38 drop tanks on wing racks. Note weathered Olive Drab finish with darker area on the nose (fuel staining or repainting?), Curtiss Electric narrow blade propeller with stencils but no prop logos, and lack of data block on fuselage under the windscreen. |
